I am thrilled to be at the preschool as the Library Media Specialist. I believe that preschool is one of the most important times in a child’s educational journey to learn the love of books and reading. When our kids are exposed to fun books with activities and characters they can relate to, they are developing a special relationship with books that is critical to their lifelong education. Likewise, when our preschoolers see books and technology as a source for information, they are learning lifelong skills. In my library media program at the preschool I will be reinforcing the Head Start Outcomes Framework, the Teaching Strategies GOLD objectives, and the Michigan Educational Technology Standards (METS) for K-2. I strive to expose children to wonderful alliterative language, great stories with kids that represent a wide range of cultures and ethnicities, and enriching technology activities.
